If your hiring process uses any automation, from knockout questions to AI screening, a change to privacy law from 10 December will affect you. Australian organisations must disclose in their privacy policy how automated tools are used in decisions that significantly affect people, including who gets shortlisted, interviewed or declined.<\/p>

Our new 2027 Hiring Experience Report<\/a> reveals that 52% of candidates believe they were rejected by an AI system without human review. Much of that worry comes from how little candidates can see of the process behind the technology. In most cases, a person is still making the call, but when communication breaks down, candidates assume a machine decided for them.<\/p>
